Effective August 24, 2021 at 8:00 am, the RM of Hoodoo fire ban has been removed.
The boat launches around the lake will be coming out starting October 1, 2021. Please plan accordingly.
A fire ban for the RM of Hoodoo is still in effect from July 23, 2021 at 9:00 a.m.
This includes the RM of Fish Creek, Town of Cudworth, Town of Wakaw, and the Wakaw Lake Regional Park. Any wood fires are not allowed, including small contained firepits. BBQ’s, propane heaters, and propane fire rings with lava/glass rocks are allowed but please use caution when using these.
Any fires spotted can be reported to 911 and the fire department will be dispatched. There is a minimum charge for call outs of $1,000.00 for the property owner.
The fire ban is in effect until further notice and will be re-evaluated each week.

The 2021 season has been extremely dry and as a result the Fire Dept would like to provide you with a few tips for the upcoming season.

The REACT Transfer Station in Wakaw and Landfill in the RM of Hoodoo will be closed on August 2, 2021 for the Civic Holiday. Regular hours will resume August 3, 2021.
Please see attached flyer and information sheet from REACT for their Household Hazardous Waste Collection day. The Wakaw Transfer Station day is scheduled for August 19, 2021 from 1 pm to 7 pm. If you have any questions, please contact the REACT office at 306-682-1955.
The Wakaw/Hoodoo Fire Department would like to encourage all residents to take caution around fires and flammable material during this extreme heat. The RM of Hoodoo No. 401, as of June 30, 2021, is in the “HIGH” Fire Weather Index with the likely possibility of moving into “EXTREME” in the coming days (see the link below).
Please take all precautionary measures necessary, such as having water nearby to extinguish your fire pit completely at the end of use, and to put out any sparks/ashes/coals that may stray from the fire pit.
