Grid 777 Chip Seal Work & Heavy Truck Detour Update

Chip Seal Maintenance on Grid 777

The RM of Hoodoo has contracted a crew to conduct chip seal maintenance on Grid 777, approximately 4 miles east of Cudworth, beginning Friday July 10th. This work is expected to take 2 – 3 days to complete. The road will remain open to traffic; however, motorists should expect occasional delays and loose gravel in the work zone.

Please reduce your speed, use caution, and follow all signage and directions from the construction crews when travelling through the area.

    Heavy Truck Detour Route Update

The conditional Heavy Truck Detour Route (shown in orange below), established due to heavy truck traffic restrictions through the Town of Cudworth, is currently wet and not recommended for use at this time.  Please use the alternate detour route shown in green.

The heavy truck restriction within the Town of Cudworth may remain in effect until Saturday.

Spring Moisture & Flooding Supports – Information for Producers

SCIC has provided information on supports available to producers affected by excess moisture and flooding this spring. SCIC has several programs in place that may assist with challenges related to delayed seeding, unseeded acreage, crop damage, and overall production impacts. These include:

    • Coverage for unseeded acreage due to wet conditions
    • Establishment benefits for crops that fail or are damaged early in the season
    • AgriStability support to help offset broader financial impacts
    • Access to Ministry of Agriculture resources for feed, water, and pasture management
    • Farm stress supports for producers and their families

Please see the attached flysheet for details and important deadlines.

Producers are strongly encouraged to take advantage of on‑farm visits with an SCIC Program Advisor to review their individual situation and available options – visit the link below:

We hope this information is helpful during what is a challenging start to the growing season.
