Fire Ban in Effect – August 11, 2021
A fire ban for the RM of Hoodoo is still in effect from July 23, 2021 at 9:00 a.m.
This includes the RM of Fish Creek, Town of Cudworth, Town of Wakaw, and the Wakaw Lake Regional Park. Any wood fires are not allowed, including small contained firepits. BBQ’s, propane heaters, and propane fire rings with lava/glass rocks are allowed but please use caution when using these.
Any fires spotted can be reported to 911 and the fire department will be dispatched. There is a minimum charge for call outs of $1,000.00 for the property owner.
The fire ban is in effect until further notice and will be re-evaluated each week.

2021 Fall Harvest Tips
The 2021 season has been extremely dry and as a result the Fire Dept would like to provide you with a few tips for the upcoming season.
- Start with clean Harvest equipment and clean daily using compressed air or a leaf blower.
- Check your fire extinguisher and ensure it is operational and still charged.
- Install a pressurized water extinguisher on your combine.
- Install a spade or shovel on your combine
- Ensure a piece of tillage equipment is ready and available for use.
- Fill your water tank and have ready for use.
There are other things a person could do to protect your equipment and property, if you have any questions, please contact any fire dept member.

2021 Tax Notices
The 2021 Tax notices for the RM of Hoodoo are being emailed out today (August 5, 2021) and mailed tomorrow (August 6, 2021)
Payments can be made by debit (no credit card), cheque, cash, or etransfer to [email protected].
