Division 6 By-Election Candidate

Candidate bio – as submitted by candidate:

I would like to take opportunity to introduce myself. I am running in the RM of Hoodoo Division 6 By-Election.

I have been a full time resident and rate payer on Nelson Beach for 10 years. We have a passion for the community and the lake. I have farmed in the Carmel /Glenfield region for 40 years both grain farm and cattle. I have worked as a stationary engineer with the Saskatoon Health Region in Humboldt and Saskatoon, retiring in 2020 from the Wakaw Lakeview Pioneer Lodge.

I served on the RM of Wolverine (Burr) for 15 years. I was a trustee on the Carmel School Board and on the Humboldt Public School Board. I have been involved in local sports playing hockey and fastball and coaching hockey and ringette. I am married and have 3 adult children and 8 grandchild.

I have a passion for the lake. I enjoy boating, golfing, bird and wildlife watching and walking. As year round resident we enjoy snowmobiling and sledding in the winter and watching wild life.

I am running for Counsellor to represent the people in division 6. I have a passion for the lake and understand the issues faced by cabin owners. I also have a farming background so am very familiar with rural issues both for business and farms.

My goal as a Counsellor is to be a voice for the people and represent everyone fairly. I want to maintain Wakaw Lake as a healthy lake for my grandchildren and great grandchildren to enjoy. I want it to be a safe and welcoming  community.  I believe change can occur to improve structure and regulation but must be environmental sound and proper planning.

I would like to encourage everyone to come out and vote. Your voice is important.  I would like to thank everyone for their support.
