Waste Disposal

Please follow our rules outlined below in order to ensure pick up of your garbage.

Garbage Pick Up – (During Summer – May 25th until the Tuesday following Thanksgiving)

Garbage pick is every Monday, except if it falls on a stat, then it will be on Tuesday.

In order for garbage to be picked up please have all garbage in garbage bags – not small plastic/grocery bags and not heavier than 40 lbs.  Garbage bags containing FISH GUTS will not be collected. 

Remember, this is for household garbage only. Any renovation/construction materials, old furniture, or garden refuse can be taken to either the React Hoodoo Dump located 4 1/2 miles south of Poplar Beach or to the Wakaw Transfer Station.

REACT Hoodoo Landfill Hours

Winter (Nov-April):  Monday, Wednesday, Saturday – 10:00a.m.-5:00p.m.

Summer (May-October):  Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday – 10:00a.m. – 5:00 p.m

REACT Wakaw Transfer Site Hours

Winter: Thursday, Saturday – 10:00a.m. – 5:00p.m.
Summer: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday – 10:00a.m. – 5:00p.m.

All loads going to the dump must be secured and tarped.
